When did the modern press coverage of Aquastar begin?

The Don Walsh Model 60 story has been written by Hodinkee, Fratello, and Monochrome. Don Walsh personally corresponded with the brand to confirm he wore the Model 60 during the 1960 Trieste descent to Challenger Deep, 10,916 meters, the deepest manned descent in history.

Is there a book about Aquastar?

A heritage volume covering the 1962–1984 mechanical era, the 1984–2020 Regatta 2000 chapter, and the 2020 return is in preparation. It draws on the Robert-family archive, the original patent filings held in Bern and Geneva, and interviews with Marc Jasinski (the no-decompression bezel patent) and the Marine Nationale procurement team.
