In the summer of 2020, on the heels of relaunching the venerable Aquastar name, we introduced a very limited run of the Deepstar Chronograph in a dynamic “Greenwich” sunburst dial — a bold, classically vibrant reference that sold out in very short order. Now for everyone who asked for us to bring the Greenwich back, we’ve done just so, and once again in limited capacity, but this time we’re offering the Greenwich dial in our newest 39mm Deepstar Chronograph case — a mid-sized reference that faithfully adheres to the function-first ethos and proportions of the pioneering Deepstar Chronograph from 1962 while retaining two of Aquastar’s key identifiers: the bidirectional rotating timing bezel with the brand’s unique “no decompression” table used to time repeated dives (the only one of its kind), and also the emblematic “cyclops” style mono-compax counter, originally devised by Aquastar founder and innovator Frederic Robert.

This colorful new Deepstar is still powered by a custom Swiss-made La Joux-Perret chronograph movement, and is water resistant to 200 meters. And like its predecessor from 2020, this vibrant new Deepstar reflects a modern vision of the Aquastar brand, and its enigmatic, innovative founder who shaped a pivotal moment in the history of the mechanical watch.
