The Aquastar Deepstar 39mm Automatic Chronograph has exceeded all of my expectations. The level of craftsmanship is remarkable—from the beautifully finished 316L stainless steel case to the crisp dial details, perfectly applied indices, and flawless operation of the column-wheel chronograph. Every component feels thoughtfully designed and precisely assembled, giving the watch a premium feel that rivals pieces costing significantly more. The 39mm case wears comfortably while maintaining a strong vintage dive-watch presence. The smooth chronograph action, high-quality finishing, and overall attention to detail showcase Aquastar's commitment to Swiss watchmaking excellence. For the price, it's one of the best values in today's luxury sports watch market, delivering outstanding quality, heritage-inspired design, and impressive mechanical performance. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.
The deepstar chronograph looks amazing on the wrist, deep saturated black color on the dail. The brushed case makes the polished bezel pop out. Keeps very accurate time and the pushers of the chrono feel solid. I was suprised that its very wearable because the thickness is spread nicely between case, caseback, bezel and crystal. The BoR bracelet gives it a whole different feel from the tropic wich changes to look from luxe to toolish. In short: I love it.
Love my Aquastar, it feels great on my wrist, even looks great. Classy, dressy, and casual all in one timepiece. Also, great lume!
Excellent quality tropic strap. The dimensions of the watch are very nice on the wrist. I purchased the blue dial and the su burst effect looks amazing in the light.
Great experience, this watch has a finish craftmanship compared to the highest names in the industry, one of the greatest bank for the buck out there.
Excellent Vintage Reissue. The Aquastar Deepstar Chronograph 39mm offers a great balance of historic design and modern wearability. The 39mm case size is ideal for daily use, preserving iconic details and is driven by a reliable movement with an excellent power reserve. Well-executed choice for collectors who value genuine dive heritage.
There's a great deal to love about the Deepstar 39mm. The assymetry. The big eye sub dial. The 70's design codes. The Cousteau origin story. The Deepstar is a very fun, very wearable, under-the-radar, "if you know, you know" timepiece.
The 2022 Deepstar has earned its place quickly. What stood out first was restraint. Nothing on the dial is asking for attention. The legibility is honest, the 39mm case wears smaller than the number suggests, and the proportions are right — it sits flat and disappears under a cuff. The bezel action is the highlight. Crisp, no play, confident in the hand. You notice the difference between a watch built around its function and one decorated to look like it was. It's become the one I reach for without thinking. That's the real test.
I love my deepstar, the mix of brushed and polished facets with the no-deco bezel is so beautiful, it's also incredibly legible under water. All around a beautiful recreation of a legendary 1960s timepiece
This bracelet is just gorgeous. It's simple, elegant, and pairs with my Deepstar effortlessly. It rivals any mesh bracelet available on the market today, and it often gets complimented when I wear my Deepstar. I'm thoroughly happy with the purchase, and it really makes an stunning watch look even better.
I have the 2020 deepstar reissue and it has been a solid reliable everyday wear watch that brings me joy as it always reminds me of my spearfishing youth way back growing up in Florida.
Very unique and good looking watch. The blue dial is absolutely dazzling. Nice solid feel on the chrono pushers too.
So my collection has gone from 60+ watches to 25, and everytime i was anguishing over what stays and what goes, my Aquastar was never in question as it sits on my ‘never sell’ list. Its actually identified in my trust to go to my Grandson. In a world where every company does so called retro models, the Deepstar is by far the best effort
It wears well, I get many compliments, more so than any other time piece I wear. It did have to go back when I first got it. Because the case fogged on a 10m dive. However, it has been great since and service was prompt and free.
I love my Deepstar! It is my favourite watch in my box and will keep forever. I get quite of few compliments from non watch people too.
A beautiful watch! I bought this new Deepstar to complement my vintage Deepstar so that I can finally go swimming with it. Vintage flair with modern technology! I love it!
A wonderful piece that i have been enjoying for over 4 years. The unique dial configuration is the hallmark signature of the deepstar and I always get compliments whenever I wear it.
I have the 2020 revival Aquastar. It’s a special watch. I later bought the BOR bracelet for it and it really pops. I also have a Benthos that is more of a daily wear for me but both watches are second to none. I purchased the the new Omega Planet Ocean in Dec 2025. It’s beautiful but looks ordinary to my blue dial Aquastar.
A very nice watch and quite unique
I love it. so classic looking. fits well with everything I wear. 10/10
Questions
Before you order.
How often does the Deepstar Chronograph need servicing, and what does it cost?
A full service every 5 to 10 years is plenty, depending on how often you wear and dive it. There is no annual service requirement. It runs a Swiss automatic movement built for reliability and easy long-term maintenance. For a current service quote, reach us through the Aquastar service page.
How water resistant is the Deepstar Chronograph?
It is rated to 200 metres (20 ATM) with a screw-down crown, so it is a genuine dive watch, not a desk diver. Ample for recreational scuba diving, snorkelling, swimming and everyday wear.
How does the bezel work, and can I use it underwater with gloves?
It carries Aquastar's no-decompression bezel, the first and only dive bezel that lets you plan and track repetitive no-decompression dives directly from the wrist, not just a single descent. It turns firmly and grips cleanly even with thick neoprene diving gloves, in or out of the water.
Is the 39mm Deepstar Chronograph comfortable on a smaller wrist?
Yes. At 39mm with a compact lug-to-lug span, it wears true to its vintage-correct proportions, comfortable on slimmer wrists while still reading as a purposeful tool watch. A versatile size that works on most wrists.
