Aquastar Deepstar III Chronograph (Manual Wind)
The Aquastar Deepstar III Manual Wind is a column-wheel hand-wound dive chronograph with no-decompression bezel, sapphire crystal and 200 m water resistance.
The Aquastar Deepstar III represents a bold step forward by looking back to the brand’s roots. After years of utilizing automatic movements in the modern Deepstar chronographs, Aquastar has partnered with La Joux-Perret to create an exclusive manual wind column wheel chronograph movement that honors the spirit of the original 1960s Deepstar and its legendary Valjoux 23 caliber.

Questions
Before you order.
What is the Deepstar III?
The Deepstar III is Aquastar's latest and most historically faithful version of the Deepstar. It replaces the automatic chronograph movement of the standard Deepstar Chronograph with a hand-wound (manual-wind) column-wheel chronograph caliber, deliberately evoking the Valjoux 23 hand-wound movement that powered the original 1965 Deepstar.
Why choose a manual-wind movement over automatic?
Manual winding is a deliberate connection to tradition. The vintage 1965 Deepstar was powered by a hand-wound Valjoux caliber, and the ritual of winding the watch each morning connects the modern wearer to that heritage. Manual movements are also typically thinner and mechanically simpler, which many purists prefer.
What makes the Deepstar III different from the standard Deepstar Chronograph?
The core functionality is identical, same case dimensions, same patented decompression bezel, same mono sub-dial layout. The key difference is the movement: the Deepstar III uses a manual-wind column-wheel chronograph caliber rather than an automatic rotor-based movement. The case height is slightly taller in the automatic version at 14mm to accommodate the caliber.
Is the Deepstar III available now?
The Deepstar III is available for pre-order, with shipping planned imminently. It comes in the same three dial colors as the automatic Deepstar: Blue Ray, Steel Grey, and Vintage Black.
