AQUASTAR BENTHOS Heritage One Blue Edition
The Aquastar Benthos Heritage One Blue Edition is the limited blue-dial variant of the Benthos Heritage One. Swiss automatic, 500 m water resistance.
Aquastar’s iconic diver returns with a limited edition in blue, a tribute to one of the world’s most quintessential dive watches from 1970
The new Benthos H1 blue Edition continues Aquastar’s earliest traditions of building innovative and ultra-capable tool watches that could cater to the needs of mariners, professional divers, and ocean conservationists. And while the original Benthos was known for its impressive depth resistance and unique center-mounted chronograph functionality, the H1 retains the marked capability and signature crown position of the Benthos but in a more streamlined and economical time-only format.
The traditional Swiss tool watchmaker is announcing its tribute to one of the world’s most iconic dive watches ever made, and a flagship in the Aquastar archive: In winter 2024, Aquastar is introducing the Benthos Blue Edition H1 (Heritage Chapter 1), a striking, 3-hand dive watch that retains the visual cues, capability and dimensions of the pioneering Benthos 500 from 1970, which was the world’s first dive watch achieving 500 meters of depth resistance without a monobloc case design. The mighty Benthos also enjoyed the distinction of being one of the few dive watches approved in the U.S. Navy diving manual throughout the 1970s.

4 major upgrades over the previous release, Benthos H1 Black:
1. New bezel ratcheting system equipped with Japanese steel ratchet spring, allowing for very crisp Action 2. Longer minute hand for differentiation 3. White X1 superluminova 4. Quick release spring bar bracelet and ratcheting wetsuit extension.
The Benthos H1 crown is positioned at 2:00
With its unique crown position, the Benthos H1 shares the design cues of its predecessor, the Aquastar Benthos 500 from 1970.
Frederic Robert’s signature of asymmetry was a visible element in all early Aquastar models like the Deepstar, the regatta and the Benthos. The asymmetry was not a design element or goal. It was born out of the necessity to create functional tool dive watches. .”Form follows function” was Robert’s driving force behind every Aquastar.

It is exactly what I was looking for: a solid watch with a retro feel, reliable, featuring all the hallmarks of modern mechanics and construction. This piece of history is eye catching, it feels robust and versatile and you will be happy to wear it in any occasion. I’m proud to be a member of the Aquastar family !
Love this watch - masculine and bold on my wrist, with a 70s feeling (could be out of a classic James Bond movie - see Dr No scene on the beach). I particularly like the blue colour - shiny and easy to read contrasting characters. Sturdy, although a bit heavy, which I don't mind.
Beautiful watch Well built tool watch High level of finishing Bezel works nicely with positive clicks and accurate positioning Blue dial is a stunner. Great value for money Highly recommend
Iconic.
I am very proud to be an Aquastar collector. I have many of these beautiful pieces (of which, 4 different benthos). This watch is a real surprise to me, it has the vintage charme and the modern reliability. I am really happy to share my feedback! WOW
My wife & I are certified divers and my watch collection only consists of divers. My Benthos H1 is one of my favourite divers of all time and I own many divers. It’s a beast of a watch but also simple and straightforward!
This is an amazing watch! I fell in love with it after reading an article on it and let me tell you the pictures are not even close to the feeling of looking at it on the flesh/metal. This was my first watch from Aquastar and trust me it wont be the last.
Exceptional Heritage Reborn Having spent some quality time with the Aquastar Benthos Heritage One Blue Edition, I can confidently say it completely exceeds expectations. As a faithful tribute to the iconic 1970 Benthos 500, the proportions on this reissue are absolutely spot on. The 42mm cushion case—crafted from premium, corrosion-resistant 904L stainless steel—wears remarkably well on the wrist thanks to its compact 47mm lug-to-lug profile. What truly stands out is the striking, semi-gloss blue dial. It catches the light beautifully on land while maintaining incredible underwater legibility, perfectly complemented by the high-density X1 SuperLumiNova and the distinctive 2 o'clock crown placement. The 120-click unidirectional ceramic bezel is crisp, tactile, and matches the deep blue hue flawlessly. Driven by a rock-solid Swiss Sellita SW200-1 Elaboré automatic movement and packing a serious 500-meter water resistance rating, it functions as a highly capable, professional-grade tool watch. Pairing its incredible case finishing with a classic Tropic strap elevates its vintage, golden-era dive charm even further. For anyone who appreciates legitimate maritime history and a beautifully engineered timepiece that stands out from the crowd, this limited edition is an absolute masterpiece.
I own the black H1 and i am really satisfied with it. Crown winds smoothly and hands hit the markers perfectly. Finish on this watch is excellent, also the lume on this watch is exceptional. Highly recommended if you are a dive watch collector like me.
Love my Benthos H1. Well built tool watch with a vintage vibe and modern touches. The fit and finish is outstanding.
Still in love
I had been hounding Aquastar for some time to bring the Benthos back. I had an original and foolishly handed it off years ago. It always haunted me. When the H1 launched, mine was in the first batch that got sent out. Blown away is an understatement. The thru line to the original DNA can be seen and felt everywhere on this version! Yep its a big old chunk of dive watch and thats just exactly what its meant to be. It goes perfectly on the Isofrane. Its my most capable diver and I will be passing it down to my son when I depart. Thank you Aquastar!
J adore cette montre, c' était un coup de coeur en voyant la version vintage et je ne syuis pas décu. Elle m' accompagne partout. Elle s' adapte trés bien à mon poignet de 19cm. Les finitions sont superbes.
Nice Tool Watch. Very comfortable with the size of my waist. Extremely well crafted case and finishes. Even though the case is a little too thick for everyday wear but functionality of the watch is unbeatable. Wonder sometimes why I still need my submariner.
I have both blue and black H1! Love em! The size and feel is very much like the vintage 500.
Love this watch. The quality is evident as soon as you pick it up. If has decent weight to it, but definitely not excessive. It fits well to my 7.5” flat wrist. Flawless / Perfect finishing, and the aesthetics are great; more than any other watch I own, this piece often gets noticed when I wear it.
Great watch. Considering its heritage and the history behind the original Benthos, the value for money is excellent. I was one of the first to buy it. When the updated version came out, I thought I should have waited, but I actually enjoy owning this one because it’s a watch I never hesitate to wear for any activity. The quality is excellent, and it has become a regular part of my rotation. My only minor criticism is that the case can feel slightly top-heavy at times, but nothing unusual for a diver like this. Overall, I’m very happy with it.
I have the black dial version and it is an outstanding modern version of the classic watch. Bezel clicks are solid and it matches perfectly with the isofrane rubber strap.
I love my Benthos H1. It is well made and fits and finishes are super. It wears well on my wrist and keeps great time, mine running about +4-5 secs per day. I have the black dial and love the cushion case style watch. I am glad I pre-ordered mine and wouldn't have trouble paying the normal price.
This has been a nice watch so far. I love that the case size and quality of materials are true to the original. One of the best re-issues out there!
A very well-built watch, excellent finishing, and a brand with a great legacy.
The Aquastar is a great watch. it is very comfortable to wear. the history behind the watch is also great.
Watch build quality is excellent to the highest degree. Fit and finish are good and the dial and bezel markers line up exactly. Lume is good quality and lasts about as long as you’d expect. Accuracy is great given the grade of the movement. Overall a great value for the money for an entry level diver!
I have the one with a black dial. Classic and modern at once. Very good to wear and very accurate.
Fantastic watch! I like the depth, size and the weight of the wristwatch. I love the blue dial and the unique positioning of the crown which makes it more comfortable to wear. My one tiny criticism is the size of the hands which I wished a tad bigger!
I bought this watch—the version with the black dial and rubber strap. It is truly a great classic, and I am completely satisfied. I must say I am an enthusiast of the Aquastar brand; I am very proud to still own an original model from the 1960s. So, I couldn't pass up the chance to add the current re-edition to my collection. Everything is exactly as described in the wonderful book that recounts the brand's history. I was very disappointed when Aquastar closed down a few years ago, but the new management is maintaining perfect continuity with the brand's legacy. Fantastic work.
Great modern recreation of a classic. It wears well ands is easy to read for those of us advancing in age.
I love this watch. This is my first introduction to the brand and after reading its history and heritage, I was hooked. The watch itself is a serious tool watch and it feels like it. It’s extremely solid and the timekeeping since I’ve received it has been +1 to 0 sec/day. It’s unlike any of my other divers and that’s why I like it. It also has an extremely satisfying bezel click motion. I’ve become a serious fan of the brand because of this watch.
Very well put together but a touch top heavy. A good, very solid watch
I love my H1 Benthos. Great tool watch wich reminds me the original one. I wear it everywhere, from the office to the ocean.
Five stars without hesitation. I’ve had the Benthos Heritage One for a few months now and it’s quietly become my daily — the one I grab without thinking. I’m based in Dubai, so it gets a proper workout: it’s been in the sea more times than I can count and the blue dial still looks brilliant against the water, no complaints there. What I didn’t expect was how easily it switches contexts. I wear it to the office with our black company polo and it looks completely at home, smart even. That kind of range is rare in a dive watch. Solid, beautifully finished, clearly built with care. Couldn’t be happier.
Great watch with old school feel, only thing I would change is having an aluminum bezel option for a more OG vintage tool watch vibe. Thickness has been streamlined in newer Benthos models, so that is a big plus.
The H1 is a great tool dive watch. The blue version is amazing and the second hand really stands out, being originally a chrono hand. But it works great on this normal dive watch as well. A great watch with heritage and history that is not to be seen on every wrist. A true masterpiece with Swiss quality movement.
Love the benthos blue dial. The esthetics are beautiful, the watch feels very sturdy almost indistructable. Old school dive watch with new parts. Perfect
Questions
Before you order.
How often does the Benthos H1 Blue need servicing, and what does it cost?
A full service every 5 to 10 years is plenty, depending on how often you wear and dive it. There is no annual service requirement. It runs a Swiss automatic movement built for reliability and easy long-term maintenance. For a current service quote, reach us through the Aquastar service page.
How water resistant is the Benthos H1 Blue?
It is rated to 500 metres, a true saturation-diving depth, on the case the Benthos name was built around. Far beyond anything recreational diving requires.
How does the Benthos dive bezel work?
The Benthos uses a case with an internal rotating dive bezel, turned by a second crown rather than an external ring. You set your dive time on the protected inner bezel, a 1960s design that keeps the timing scale safe behind the crystal and works easily with gloves.
How does the Benthos H1 Blue wear, and is it large?
At 42mm it is a substantial diver with genuine wrist presence, true to the original Benthos. If you prefer a more compact fit, the 40mm Benthos Heritage II is the most wrist-friendly model in the family.
