Aquastar Deepstar II - Blue Ray
The Aquastar Deepstar II Blue Ray is a Swiss automatic chronograph with the brand’s no-decompression bezel, 200 m water resistance, sapphire crystal and Sellita SW290 movement.
The Aquastar Deepstar II is the evolution of the original Deepstar from 1963, relying on the same patent of the original piece that enables calculating multiple dive and decompression times while housing a non-chronograph, easy to use 3 hand mechanism, and moderately sized 37mmX46mm for great comfort of wear. Being a result of recreation of one of the most influential dive watches of the 60s, the unique and uncluttered mono sub dial, and the patented multiple dive decompression bezel table make the Deepstar an unmatched diver-oriented tool with an instantly recognizable design.

Defining the Diver’s Watch Legacy
Like its predecessor from 2020, the new Deepstar II reflects a fully modern vision of the Aquastar brand, and its enigmatic, innovative founder who shaped a pivotal moment in mechanical watch history. This moment in timekeeping history represented a conscious shift from wrist watches as time-telling devices, to purpose-built tools designed for very specific fields, like diving and exploration. Aquastar didn’t invent the dive watch, but the brand crystallized its purpose in a singular vision, influencing an entire industry with category-defining innovations.

Outstanding watch. The dial stands out as the real star of the show. This watch is simply beautiful and incredibly well built. A very unique piece that is a real conversation starter. Truly vintage inspired and a high quality modern build with awesome accuracy.
Very good quality on dial and bezel. The blue dial is a unique color and really pops! Nice size and comfort - good balance of smaller case dimension but wears bigger because of lug to lug dimensions.
It’s a very well done watch. Looks great. It has a wide and positive following; I get compliments whenever I wear it.
I've had this for over a year and it never fails to amaze me .. perfect size, very readable and visually stunning. Has become my favorite travel watch.
Perfect size, great color and people stop me to ask me about the watch. I think the color is unusual bright blue that nicely pops in the light. No issues after years of wear and iit keeps great time.
A really lovely watch ! Has been accurate within COSC spec, and I've never had so many non "WIS" folks inquire about and/or comment on any other timepiece in my collection. Just wish I could find a single pass Nato strap that matched the dial color !
Questions
Before you order.
What is the Deepstar II?
The Deepstar II is described as 'the Deepstar that could have been back in 1967', an imagined successor to the original that strips out the chronograph complication while retaining the iconic Deepstar case shape, the patented decompression bezel, and the signature mono sub-dial. It is a 3-hand dive watch at 37mm, making it one of the most wearable watches in the lineup.
How does the sub-dial work without a chronograph?
In the Deepstar II, the distinctive cyclops-style mono sub-dial at 9:00 now houses the running seconds indicator rather than a chronograph counter. This preserves the immediately recognizable Deepstar visual identity while simplifying the mechanics to a reliable 3-hand automatic movement.
What color variants are available for the Deepstar II?
The Deepstar II is available in Blue Ray, Steel Grey, Vintage Black, a limited Silverstar edition (silver sunburst dial), a limited Greenwich edition (green sunburst dial), and a limited Polarstar edition (white sunburst dial). The non-BOR versions are on Seatbelt NATO or Tropic straps, and BOR bracelet variants are also offered.
What is the Deepstar II Polarstar?
The Polarstar is a limited-edition variant of the Deepstar II featuring a striking white sunburst dial, combined with the standard Deepstar asymmetric case design. It maintains the time-only 3-hand format with the running seconds at 9:00.
Is every Deepstar II individually numbered?
Yes. Each Deepstar II is numbered and engraved on the case back.
How often does the Deepstar II need servicing, and what does it cost?
A full service every 5 to 10 years is plenty, depending on how often you wear and dive it. There is no annual service requirement. It runs a Swiss automatic movement built for reliability and easy long-term maintenance. For a current service quote, reach us through the Aquastar service page.
How water resistant is the Deepstar II?
It is rated to 200 metres (20 ATM) with a screw-down crown, so it is a genuine dive watch, not a desk diver. Ample for recreational scuba diving, snorkelling, swimming and everyday wear.
How does the bezel work, and can I use it underwater with gloves?
It carries Aquastar's no-decompression bezel, the first and only dive bezel that lets you plan and track repetitive no-decompression dives directly from the wrist, not just a single descent. It turns firmly and grips cleanly even with thick neoprene diving gloves, in or out of the water.
Is the Deepstar II comfortable on a smaller wrist?
Very. At 37mm it is one of the most wearable watches in the Aquastar lineup, sitting neatly on slimmer wrists while keeping its vintage dive-watch character. A genuinely versatile, unisex size.
